The representatives of Raghunath Bazar Business Association, today in a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, demanded that Raghunath Bazar area should be declared as ‘no parking zone’ to decongest the ever busy market and avoid inconvenience to the shopkeepers and the common man.

They also demanded that CCTVs should also be installed in the market. The meeting was convened by Divisional Commissioner to review the traffic scenario in Raghunath Bazaar and its adjoining areas besides discussing the measures to streamline traffic movement.

The officers and representatives of Raghunath Bazar Business Association attended the meeting.

The Raghunath Bazar Business Association led by president Surinder Mahajan presented a charter of demands to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu demanding no parking zone area at Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk to Shalamar and City Chowk to JDA Market.

They further demanded installation of LED Lights and CCTV Cameras at Raghunath Bazar besides other demands.

Divisional Commissioner, while responding to the demands, assured all possible support in making Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk and adjoining areas decongested.

He directed the Commissioner JMC to take immediate steps to ensure smooth plying of traffic in the bazar.

Bhandari directed the traffic department to strictly implement traffic regulation in Raghunath Bazar so that the shopkeepers as well as shoppers are saved from unnecessary inconvenience due to traffic congestion.

Divisional Commissioner stressed on better synergy between the concerned agencies to ensure better traffic movement in Raghunath Bazar and adjoining areas.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Vice Chairman, JDA, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Romesh Kumar, SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta, SSP Traffic, Nisha Nathyal, SSP, Pawan Parihar, Joint Commissioner, JMC, Rajesh Sharma, XEN PWD, UK Sharma, Joint Director Tourism, Shokat Mahmood, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
