National Conference working president and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah, on Wednesday announced the allocation of further Rs 2.25 crore for various developmental and infrastructural works in Beerwah Constituency.

In a meeting with party office bearers of all three blocks of Beerwah constituency held at party headquarters ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar, Omar reviewed the status of various developmental initiatives in Beerwah and also reviewed the party activities at the grassroots level.

“Focus of politics is the sacred goal of serving the people and ensuring all mechanisms are used in a sincere and diligent manner to resolve all public issues and inconveniences. My endeavour as the elected representative from Beerwah is to ensure the holistic, planned and equitable allocation of resources and funds irrespective of political affiliations and ideologies – a mission that had been implemented in letter and spirit in every nook and corner of the constituency,” Omar said.

He asked the party functionaries to reach out to the people with the ultimate goal of serving them and ensure all grievances are highlighted and addressed in a timely and efficient manner.  Omar also reviewed the functioning and status of various road, link-road, water-supply schemes, electrical distribution infrastructure and public health initiatives and allocated an amount of Rs 2.25 crore for these public works.

He assured the functionaries about the 18 crores Sukhnag Bridge project saying he would leave no stone unturned to make this a reality. “Sukhnag Bridge Project would be turned into a reality along the lines of the Beerwah-Budgam Road, the Aripanthan-Khag Road and other similar successful initiatives that have benefited thousands of locals,” he said.

The meeting was also attended by political Secretary to working president Tanvir Sadiq and senior party leader and constituency in-charge Professor Abdul Majeed Matoo besides party block presidents and senior activists.
