Yellow fever vaccination centre established at SMHS

Yellow fever vaccination centre was inaugurated by Dr Samia Rashid, principal/ dean, Government Medical College, here at Immunization Clinic, Block-F, SMHS Hospital,

The first such centre in J&K state is approved by director general health services, Government of India and vaccines are provided by Central Research Institute, Kasauli. The centre is run by Department of Community Medicine, GMC Srinagar. “Those intending to visit yellow fever endemic countries, majority in Africa and South America, shall get themselves vaccinated, at least 10 days before travel. Previously such travellers had to spend lot of money and time to travel to New Delhi for yellow-fever vaccination. The vaccines will be provided on first and third months every month', said Dr. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, HOD Community Medicine.
