12 INJURED IN ROAD ACCIDENTS IN RAJOURI

Five accidents took place in Rajouri district, while there was one in Poonch.

At least twelve people sustained injuries in separate accidents across Rajouri and Poonch on Monday.

Five accidents took place in Rajouri district, while there was one in Poonch.

Jammu and Kashmir police said, “A newly-purchased car, plying on the highway, skidded off the road and turned turtle at Dallian in Nowshera. As a result, four people travelling in the car sustained injuries. They were shifted to sub district hospital Nowshera, where they were treated upon.”

The injured include Mohammad Bashir, son of Shah Mohammad, Reshma Bi, wife of Mohammad Sadeeq, Mohammad Shakoor, son of Mohammad Sadeeq, and Rukhsar, daughter of Mohammad Aslam, all residents of Rani Bhadetar village of Rajouri.

Meanwhile, in another accident, a car, JK11C 9332, and a tipper, JK11C 9643, collided near Chingus on the highway. Two people sustained injuries in the accident. They were shifted to sub district hospital Nowshera for treatment.

A Tata Sumo, JK12 3139, skidded off the road and plunged into the roadside fields at DeriRalyote on the highway. As a result, six people travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries. They were shifted to Manjakote primary health centre, where they were under treatment.

Furthermore, people travelling in a car, JK11C 6295, had a narrow escape when their vehicle plunged into a roadside drain at Kassian on Rajouri-Darhal road. Though the vehicle was damaged, but no injuries or causalities were reported. 

Meanwhile, a woman, hailing from DodassanBala village of Rajouri'sThannamandi tehsil sustained injuries when a car, JK11B 7172, collided with an army vehicle. As a result of the head-on collision between the vehicles at Muradpur village of Rajouri, the woman travelling in the car sustained injuries.

Similarly, a number of people including, school students, had a narrow escape on Monday morning after the minibus they were travelling met with an accident. “A minibus, JK12 2057, en route Poonch from Bhainch side, skidded off the road and turned turtle at Kunaiyan village. The people travelling in the car received minor bruises,” a police officer said.

Jammu and Kashmir police have registered cases and are investigating the incidents.
