DH Rajouri collects 513 blood units in 7 months

Nearly 513 blood units were donated in district hospital Rajouri in past seven months, officials said. 

As per figures shared by management of district hospital, 513 voluntary blood donations were collected in Blood Bank of  District Hospital Rajouri from May to November as compared to 559 donations in twelve months last year.

"This is a record number of donations for us as we are almost equal to donations of a whole year injust seven years of this year " officials added.  

Talking to Greater Kashmir Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Rajouri, Dr. Mahmood Bajar said that the major contributors for this friendly gesture and social cause were Nirankari mission, Army, BSF, Rotary club, Bajrang Dal, Press Club members, Pir Panjal Youth Parliment, Youth for Change, Police, CRPF and HDFC Bank.

 Medical Superintendent requested the civil society members and youngsters of Rajouri to come forward and to contribute to make the blood bank functional round the clock as the blood has no substitute. 

"A voluntary blood donor donates blood out of his/her free will without expecting anything of monetary value from the Blood Bank or patients, relatives or any other source at the time of donation or in future." he added.
